What You Will Be Doing

The purpose of the Occupational Violence and Aggression (OVA) After Hours RiSCE Clinician role is to provide consultancy, engage and support clinical staff to deliver safe care to patients and consumers; and provide a safe environment for visitors and staff across Peninsula Health sites. It has a focus on embedding the principles of the You First Safety Campaign, to ensure that the workplace environment is proactively working towards minimising the risks of occupational violence and aggression.

The position has been developed to support the RiSCE Coordinators and provide opportunities for education and training and service improvement initiatives. The position requires leadership within the organisation in OVA action planning, daily safety huddle attendance and staff support post incident.

The RiSCE Clinicians report directly to the Staff Safety Lead, who is under the direct line management of the Executive Director Nursing and Midwifery.

What You Need

We anticipate you will have:
•Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional holding current registration with AHPRA.
•Post basic qualifications in mental health or relevant equivalent.
•Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act
•Demonstrated competence in data management and report writing

*Please refer to salary circular for Mental Health and Wellbeing Services Entraprise Agreement 2020-2024 for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.

Selection Criteria Essential: Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional holding current registration with AHPRA

Essential: Demonstrate expertise in the prevention, early intervention and management of occupational violence and aggression in the health industry
Essential: Demonstrated organisational and decision making skills
Essential: Demonstrated competence in data management and report writing
Essential: Well-developed interpersonal skills (verbal and written) and a capacity to work both independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team; and with security team members, including a demonstrated ability to liaise effectively at all levels.
