The Pharmacy Department at Frankston Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician to join our highly effective and motivated team of Pharmacists and Technicians. This is a 12 months part time position working 20 hours per week.


Position Summary

The successful applicant will be trained to provide high quality sterile pharmacy manufacturing service. Past experience in this area and other hospital pharmacy technician experience will be advantageous. Other rostered duties may include maintenance and replenishment of ward imprests, ordering, processing requisitions, stock management, dispensing under supervision and ward technician tasks. Working knowledge of Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme will also be useful.

The successful applicant should preferably have completed or is currently completing an approved Certificate III Hospital Pharmacy Technician course.

Essential qualities required include a positive team attitude, demonstrated general clerical skills, good communication skills, commitment to customer service, organised and efficient work skill, and meticulous attention to detail.

Selection Criteria Desirable: Must have completed, enrolled, or willing to undertake and complete within 18 months a Certificate 3 course approved by the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
Desirable: Recent hospital pharmacy experience and/or experience in sterile manufacturing.
Desirable: Demonstrated general clerical skills including proficiency with computer programs, eg Microsoft Excel and Word
