About the Position
Exciting opportunities exist for passionate and enthusiastic midwives to join our devoted team at Frankston Hospitals Women’s Health Unit, in either a permanent or limited term basis.

As an integral member of our team you will be a responsible and accountable professional who can work in partnership with women and their families to give the necessary guidance, care and support during their pregnancy journey.

About Our Women’s Health Unit
The Women’s Health Unit is in the midst of an exciting redevelopment phase. It has a new management team, is making structural changes, is implementing world class technologies and is currently reviewing the model of care offered to our growing community.

The unit has a combination of outpatient/assessment rooms, postnatal beds and birth suites where almost 2,900 babies were welcomed last year.

It is an energetic, friendly and thriving maternity unit that takes great pride in its strong team-work ethic, dedication and resilience to support each other through the challenges of modern maternity complexities. We promote a culture of collaboration, openness and respect for every member of our multidisciplinary team, working together to achieve clinical excellence and positive outcomes for our mothers and babies. We offer excellent training and professional development opportunities that aims to promote life-long learning and professional growth.

Essential Criteria
• Are you passionate about providing evidence-based care in collaboration with the right of the woman, her family and health care providers to make an informed decision about her choice of care?
• Do you love coaching women through their labour, and seeing parents with their newborn child for the first time?
• Do you continue to look for ways to improve the healthcare outcomes for your patients?
• Are you committed to Person Centred Care?
• Can you be appropriately assertive but empathetic with people who are distressed?
• Do you have strong judgment and decision making skills?

• The opportunity to work across both Inpatient and Labour and Assessment areas (your roster will be 50/50 split across these areas)

We want to support our Mothers who dedicate their lives to supporting women become Mothers; no night duty for Breast feeding mums for first 3 months from returning from Mat Leave and the ability to request a Flexible Working Arrangement (contact us to find out what this means)

Selection Criteria Desirable: Are you a Registered Midwife with current AHPRA registration?
Desirable: Have you completed a graduate year program or equivalent?
Desirable: Do you have a commitment to delivering high quality outcomes for consumers?
Desirable: Have you recently completed of RANZCOG Fetal Surveillance Education Program?
Desirable: Do you pride yourself in developing continuous improvement opportunities for improved patient/consumer outcomes?
