What You Will Be Doing

Peninsula Health currently has an opportunity for an experienced and person centred focused Addiction Medicine Specialist to join our Alcohol and Other Drug team on a sessional basis.

Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team, the Addiction Medicine Specialist will participate in the Addiction Medicine Engagement Strategy funded by the South Eastern primary Health Care Network.

Key Responsibilities

• Community of Practice activities, Including Special Interest Network meetings and Small Group Learning sessions;
• Shared care models of patient management between community GPs and AMS;
• Primary & Secondary consultation to support community GPs managing opioid dependence, to expand their engagement in the ORT program and link them into Area 4 Pharmacotherapy Network supports;
• Attendance at Area 4 Pharmacotherapy Network Advisory Committee meetings
Essential Criteria

• Medical Practitioner Registered in Australia.
• Fellowship of The Royal Australian College of Physicians or equivalent (member of the Addiction Medicine Chapter)
• Relevant Specialist experience.
• Relevant track record and experience in clinical management.
• Sound clinical knowledge, skills and experience in contemporary medical and evidence based practice
