Position Summary
The Senior Clinical Psychologist will coordinate and provide high quality psychological assessment and intervention for Mental Health patients. This role will provide clinical leadership of psychology service provision in Mental Health to provide excellent clinical care to patients. It provides professional governance to all Psychology staff working in Mental Health and is a role model for other team members. The Senior Clinical Psychologist will provide clinical supervision for Psychologists and Psychology students in Mental Health. As clinical leader, this role will develop and evaluate innovative psychological practices to meet the needs of Mental Health patients.

Key Responsibilities
• Professional governance and clinical leadership of Psychology staff in Mental Health.
• In collaboration with relevant managers, ensure provision of evidence based, best practice Psychology to the highest professional standards.
• Provide strong day-to-day professional support, and direction to Psychology staff to ensure high quality clinical care, facilitate patient flow and optimal patient outcomes.
• Collaboration with other Allied Health seniors in Mental Health to facilitate a co-ordinated approach and effective teamwork.
• Provide education and ongoing liaison for clinical staff across Mental Health regarding Psychological intervention for patients.

Essential Criteria
• Current registration with Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA)
• Registration as a Psychology Board approved supervisor
• Master of Clinical Psychology
• Extensive clinical knowledge, skills and experience in Psychology
• Strong knowledge of Psychology service provision in Mental Health
• Ability to work collaboratively and as an effective member of a leadership team
• Ability to support and supervise staff, promote professional competence and foster individual staff development.
• Skills in service development and quality improvement activities
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and relationship management
• Excellent leadership skills
• Experience providing clinical supervision of registered and/or provisional psychologists.
