Position Summary
The Associate Director of Pharmacy – Frankston Operations, provides leadership within the pharmacy to ensure a positive culture and high quality service delivery.

You will be responsible for services delivered from the Frankston Hospital Pharmacy Department including dispensing and distribution, manufacturing (including aseptic compounding) and oncology services.
In addition, you’ll hold ‘service wide’ portfolio responsibilities for Information Technology (and the pharmacy IT strategy), medication procurement policy and contract management.

Key Responsibilities
• To effectively lead a team to ensure services are Safe, Personal, Effective and Connected
• Overseeing dispensing and distribution, manufacturing, compounding and prepacking
• Overseeing procurement, effective stock management, stock holding
• Ensure best practice people management
• Demonstrate compliance with relevant national and practice standards
• Oversee Frankston Pharmacy facilities and equipment
• Participate in strategic and operational planning and lead change

Essential Criteria
• Registered (or eligible to be registered) as a pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Authority.
• Establishes positive effective relationships in the work environment
• Demonstrated effective leadership skills
• Proven ability to manage in a hospital pharmacy environment
• Excellent communicator at all organisational levels
• Proven ability to implement change in a complex environment
• Demonstrated experience in the governance of information systems and technology in the health environment
• Proven ability to maximise the efficient use of allocated budget and to operate within that budget
• Demonstrated understanding of internal and external customer needs and how to respond in a useful professional manner
• Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and improvements in quality in a cost constrained environment.
• Demonstrated time management capabilities and the ability to work to a deadline
• Proven ability to maximise business and professional opportunities
• Current driver’s license
• Computer literate
