What You Will Be Doing

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic, supportive and professional Paediatric team. Registrars are medical practitioners with experience in Paediatrics and Neonates who work within a multidisciplinary team. A Registrar’s performance is supervised and monitored by specialists to ensure they are entrusted with responsibilities commensurate with their capabilities.

The Paediatric Registrar works in an inpatient environment within Children’s ward, SCN, WHU and ED as well as attending deliveries and theatre when required. The Registrar also works across a wide variety of clinics. The Registrars roster is a 7-day rotating roster across all shifts, including on call(sick cover), Night duty and weekends. Under direction, the registrar reviews medical, developmental, and behavioural needs of patients and provides appropriate care and services to secure optimum health outcomes.
The Registrar also has a vital role in teaching and supporting Resident Medical Officers and Medical Students. There is an extensive Education program run at Frankston for Paediatric Registrars.
This position is open to both continuing basic and advanced trainees. As the position is being filled outside the Victorian Basic Training Network, it is non- accredited for basic training with the Royal Australian College of Physicians.
