Position Summary
An exciting opportunity exists at Peninsula Health for a Physiotherapist with expertise in geriatric evaluation and management and highly developed skills in subacute neurology. The position is based at The Mornington Centre and the successful applicant will be passionate about providing safe, high quality physiotherapy services and continuously striving to improve the care we provide.
You will have expert clinical skills in the assessment and management of patients admitted to The Mornington Centre with neurological conditions but will also have the flexibility to manage a varied caseload. You will be capable of providing clinical leadership, education and mentoring to junior Physiotherapy staff and to the wider multi-disciplinary team as required.
You will have operational leadership experience, excellent communication, team work and conflict resolution skills and be committed to innovation, excellence and quality improvement. Applicants who have or are working towards relevant post-graduate qualifications and with recent experience in an public hospital settings will be highly regarded.
This is a fulltime position but part-time applications will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide expert, evidence-based physiotherapy services to patients with Neurological conditions in a GEM setting and to other patient groups as required. • Supervise and teach junior physiotherapists, allied health assistants and undergraduate students in ensure excellence in service provision. • Provide clinical leadership to continually improve inter-disciplinary processes of care • Assume a leadership role within the Neurological Physiotherapy Stream, providing expertise in matters relating to GEM neurological physiotherapy and take responsibility for driving quality improvement initiatives. • Support the Head of Physiotherapy and the TMC Physiotherapy Manager to achieve operation and quality improvement objectives.
