Position Summary
Exciting opportunities exists within our Midwifery Department at Frankston Hospital for passionate and dedicated Nurses and Midwifes to become part of our devoted team. Opportunities exist on a permanent or limited term basis.

As a member of our incredible team of Midwives, you will partner with our local mums during a moment of profound transition and change. You will be the first point of contact for them throughout labour and are responsible for providing evidence based care in collaboration with empowering and supporting them to make informed choices about their care.

Midwives strive to help women to have a healthy pregnancy and natural birth experience and are trained to recognise and deal with deviations from the normal. The Midwife is a responsible and accountable professional who works in partnership with women to give the necessary support, care and advice during pregnancy, labour and the postpartum period, to conduct births on the midwife’s own responsibility and to provide care for the infant. You will advocate for our mums when their voices go unheard and go above and beyond to provide a safe inviting space for women entering their birth journey.

About our Midwifery Department
Our Multidisciplinary Team in Midwifery work with passion to deliver world class healthcare for the local community.

Our Midwifery department offers comprehensive pregnancy care for women and their families in our fully integrated Women's Health Unit at Frankston Hospital. We provide a level 5 Maternity Service and are proud to assist in over 2900 births each year. We are also well supported by a lovely team of Midwives in our level 4 Special Care Nursery.

We are entering an exciting time of development, our team will have the opportunity to play an active role in the review of our Model of Care.

• Do you love coaching women through their labour, and seeing parents with their newborn child for the first time?
• Do you continue to look for ways to improve the healthcare outcomes for your patients?
• Are you committed to Person Centred Care?
• Can you be appropriately assertive but empathetic with people who are distressed?
• Do you have strong judgment and decision making skills?

Selection Criteria Essential: Are you a Registered Midwife/Nurse with current AHPRA registration?

Desirable: Have you recently completed of RANZCOG Fetal Surveillance Education Program?
