Obs & Gyn Senior Registrars are experienced medical practitioners who work within a multidisciplinary team. Their performance is supervised and monitored by full time and fractional specialists but they are supported to provide clinical leadership and to perform independently, where appropriate.

Under direction, the Registrar reviews the general medical and surgical needs of the patients and provides appropriate care to secure optimum health outcomes. The Senior Registrar also has a vital role in teaching and supporting Registrars, Resident Medical Officers and Medical Students as part of their transition to becoming a specialist.

The Unit prides itself on the support and mentoring we provide as well as the strong working relationship we have with midwives, nurses, Allied Health and other specialties.
Research opportunities are available on site with statistical and Human Research Ethics Committee support.
