What You Will Be Doing

Peninsula Health currently has an opportunity for an experienced and person centered Counselor to join our Alcohol and Other Drug program on a permanent part time basis. The counsellor supports positive behavioral change and recovery in people through providing evidence-based therapeutic individual, group and family counselling interventions.

What You Need

We anticipate you will have:

• Tertiary qualifications appropriate to the position such as social work, counselling or psychology
• Certificate IV, or Diploma in Alcohol and other Drugs
• Undergraduate degree relevant to Alcohol and Other Drugs or Postgraduate course
• Understanding of the Child Information Sharing Scheme, the Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme and MARAM – Multi Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (desirable)

Selection Criteria Essential: Tertiary qualifications appropriate to the position such as social work, counselling or psychology. ?
Essential: Certificate IV, or Diploma in Alcohol and other Drugs, Undergraduate degree relevant to Alcohol and Other Drugs or Postgraduate course in Addiction with minimum qualifications of the Alcohol and Other Drug Skill Set (AOD Core Competencies) ?
Essential: Demonstrated experience working with at-risk and vulnerable people with dual diagnosis
