Position Summary
The Children’s Services Team Leaders work closely together to support the Children’s Services team staff to deliver high quality, child-centred and family focused child development services for families in the City of Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula Shire. The two team leaders take a primary focus over one City or Shire. We aim to deliver safe, personal, connected and effective care to every person, every time. This position supports staff to deliver clinical services to children, families and groups, and engage in capacity building and local partnerships. The incumbent ensures preventative, responsive and innovative client engagement and interventions are fundamental to staff practices. Services delivered derive from a range of funding sources and models. As a Senior Clinician, the Team Leader also provides clinical supervision to Grade 1 & 2 Clinicians of the same discipline where relevant in the team structure.

Key Responsibilities
• In conjunction with the Children’s Team Leadership team, comprising other team leaders and program manager, develop and deliver integrated, collaborative services for children in the catchment and ensure a cohesive and integrated team approach across local teams.
• Provide operational leadership for the multidisciplinary team across multiple campuses.
• Provide senior clinician level expertise in your profession to same-profession team members, either as clinical lead or in negotiated role with the clinical lead.
• Provide clinical supervision to Grade 1 &2 clinicians and students of the same profession in accordance with the Allied Health policy where relevant.
• Initiate and lead relevant quality activities and research projects.
• Utilizing evidence-based current best practice interventions, manage a clinical caseload providing short-term individual services to children and families with a variety of presentations in a family-centred manner.
• Contribute to sector and organizational leadership.
• Support a child safe organisation by valuing, respecting, and listening to children and young people and by undertaking screening for suitability to work with children and vulnerable people and to comply with relevant state/territory legislative requirements.

Essential Criteria
• Tertiary qualification in allied health or medical science discipline.
• Hold and maintain current practicing membership of the relevant professional body and/or full registration with AHPRA where available.
• Demonstrated capacity for operational leadership and supervision in early years/children’s services.
• Sound understanding and demonstrated application of the social model of health.
• Demonstrated capacity to effectively lead and organise a multidisciplinary team of health professionals.
• Broad understanding of a range of both therapeutic and sector capacity-building approaches applicable to the community health setting and to child health.
• Ability to support staff in capacity building, promote professional competence and foster positive team relations.
• Highly developed communication skills including negotiation, conflict resolution, supporting change processes and creative problem solving.
• Excellent time management and adaptability
• Demonstrated initiative, innovation and ability to contribute to the development of new/improved services through quality or research activities.
• Excellent skills using data and reporting on service outputs and outcomes.
• Holder of a current ‘Working with Children Check’ ,willingness undergoing police check
