Peninsula Health provides public healthcare services to residents of the Mornington Peninsula.

Our hospitals and emergency departments are located at Frankston and Rosebud, and we provide a wide range of community health, dental, rehabilitation, mental health, palliative care ad aged care services from campuses at Frankston, Hastings, Mornington and Rosebud.

Position Summary
An exciting opportunity currently exists for enthusiastic and experienced (preferred) Menu Monitors to join Food Services Team. The Food Services Department is an in-house service, which provides food for all campuses across Peninsula Health

Currently we are producing/plating a combination of approximately 2000 cook / fresh and cook / chill meals a day for patients.

Ideally we are looking for 4 Food Monitors as we have a total of 154 hrs. available.
We are looking for 2 x Food Monitors for our Golf Links Road Facility; and 2 x Food Monitors for our Mornington Facility. The successful applicants will be working to a 7 day rotating roster.

Key Responsibilities
• Liaise with Nursing, Food Service, Nutrition & Dietetics and Speech Pathology staff to ensure patients’ meal selection and nutritional requirements are met.
• To liaise with Chefs and production team around requirements for diet meals
• Responsible and accountable for the ordering of all patient/resident meal requirements.
• Update patient information on CBORD as required.
• To follow all Dietary Guidelines as outlined by Nutrition and Speech Pathologists.
• Assist with patient meal service inquiries, and print off tray tickets and reports as required.
• To travel to other campus as rostered and follow specific duties related to the site.
• Ambassador for the Food Services Department
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
• To assist other menu monitors as required completing the daily requirements.
• To complete all requirements prior to completing your shift.

Selection Criteria Essential: Previous experience with the provision of meals, menu monitoring, including assisting patients with menu completion, data entry, and printing reports.
Essential: Understanding of basic diet codes and food allergies.
Essential: Must have basic computer skills and be competent in the use of an IPAD or similar device for taking patient meal orders
Essential: Must have effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to relay messages and follow instructions. Ability to read and complete menus (when required)and diet codes.
Essential: Be able to liaise effectively with other staff within designated work area; including nursing staff, dietitians and Speech Pathologists.
Essential: Demonstrate ability to understand different needs of patients, including cultural needs.
Essential: Must have a current Food Handling Certification (Post 2015)
