Position Summary Peninsula Health Mental Health Service (PHMHS) is currently seeking to attract Psychiatrists into consultant psychiatrist team leadership positions within it’s adult service. Opportunities to work within the inpatient and community team environments are currently available to cover consultant growth within the service. We work within a collegiate environment to provide senior clinical care and leadership to our multi-disciplinary service that is committed to patient centred, personal, safe, effective and connected care. We are proud to be leaders within the state of least restrictive care with the lowest rates of seclusion and use of the MHA whilst providing high quality care to our community. You will become part of a strong culture of medical leadership within the multidisciplinary environment and supported to be part of a growing research and evidence generating approach to care.
Key Responsibilities • Provide high quality evidence based clinical care within the designated scope of practice • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by monitoring services and practice • Lead and manage junior medical staff to achieve optimum outcomes • Be aware of and work in accordance with organisational policies and procedures
Essential Criteria Fellowship of the Royal Australasian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists • Demonstrated working knowledge of the Victorian Mental Health Act 2014 • Medical Practitioner Registered in Australia • Relevant Specialist experience • Relevant track record and experience in clinical management • Sound clinical knowledge, skills and experience in contemporary medical and evidence based practice • Ability to work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team • Patient safety and quality review knowledge and skills
