Position Summary

Peninsula Health Mental Health Service are seeking an innovative and energetic FaPMI Coordinator. The successful applicant will lead the coordination of service development within Peninsula Health Mental Health Service (PHMHS) and across the catchment to build capacity of services ensuring an effective response to families where a parent has a mental illness. This will be achieved through workforce training and resource development, policy and procedure development, partnerships between sectors and services, group program development, implementation and evaluation, and community education.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain systems that increase the capacity of PHMHS to provide a family inclusive response to the parenting needs of consumers and the needs of their children whilst considering the needs of all family members.
• Develop and maintain systems that increase the capacity of PHMHS network partners (such as mental health community support services, family violence services, drug and alcohol services, services to aboriginal communities, housing services, child protection, youth and family services, maternity, infant and early childhood services, primary care and education) to recognise and respond appropriately to parental mental illness.
• Establish and strengthen service networks in partnership with consumers and carers to provide a coordinated and collaborative response to the needs of families where a parent has a mental illness.

Selection Criteria Essential: Nursing, Psychology, Occupational Therapy – Qualified and registered with relevant post basic qualifications in mental health. Social Work - Approved degree in Social Work or other relevant qualifications, with relevant post basic qualification approved for membership of the Australian Associati
Essential: Experience in, and knowledge of, the adult, child and adolescent mental health field and associated health and welfare services
Essential: Ability to design and deliver professional development activities and training to a range of occupational groups and organisations
Essential: Current Victorian Drivers License
Desirable: Ability to converse in a language other than English
Desirable: Experience and training with research design and statistical analysis
Desirable: Computer skills commensurate with writing reports and data management skills.
