Position Summary
The Senior Occupational Therapist will be responsible for fostering clinical excellence in Occupational Therapy services across the Mental Health program at Peninsula Health. They will be considered an expert in the field and will motivate and inspire others. They will be a leader in building and contributing to knowledge in their area of specialty or designated responsibility through direct service provision, supervision and evidence based research.

Key Responsibilities
• Demonstrate expertise in the provision of occupational therapy services to patients/clients of the Mental Health service.
• Provide strong day-to-day professional support, and direction to occupational therapy staff to ensure high quality clinical care, facilitate patient flow and optimal patient outcomes.
• Lead the professional governance and clinical leadership of Occupational Therapy staff in Mental Health with support from the Head of Occupational Therapy.
• In collaboration with relevant managers, ensure provision of evidence based, best practice occupational therapy to the highest professional standards.

Essential Criteria
• Current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA)
• Post Graduate Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy, Management, Research or Public Health (or significant gains in working towards same).
• Extensive clinical knowledge, skills and experience in Occupational Therapy in mental health.
• Extensive experience providing clinical and operational supervision of staff performance issues.
