Position Summary Peninsula Health currently has an opportunity for experienced and person centered focused Registered Nurses to join our Nurse Bank on a casual basis across all Peninsula Health sites.
A Registered Nurse is a valued and integral member of the Peninsula Health multidisciplinary team demonstrating flexibility in caring for patients and their families across the organisation.
The Registered Nurse works competently within their scope of practice to deliver safe, evidence based person centred care to achieve optimal health outcomes or a dignified death.
Key Responsibilities • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate & document comprehensive nursing care • Provide care in accordance with evidence based best practice standards • Ensure safety of the public, patients & staff from both OH&S & Infection Control perspectives • Complete all mandatory training as per hospital policy • Participate in organised training & development activities • Recognise, respond & escalate changes in the patient’s condition • Maintain patient records and document all observations & care provided • Undertake patient assessments in a timely manner • Act as a patient advocate, protecting their rights & belief
Essential Criteria • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration • Completion of a graduate year program • Demonstrated commitment to delivering high quality outcomes for consumers • Demonstrated clinical knowledge & skills commensurate with experience & scope of practice • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team • Able to use basic computer software applications • Prepares written documentation using clear, concise & grammatically correct language • Communicates well with & relates to consumers from a wide range of cultures & backgrounds • Availability to work across all Peninsula Health sites • Availability to work a minimum of 1 shift per month
