About the role Peninsula Health currently has an opportunity for an experienced and person centred focused ENT Surgeon to join our organisation on a full time basis or VMO equivalent to be negotiated.
The ENT surgeon will be part of a team of surgeons and registrars and will provide high quality services to patients requiring Ear, Nose and Throat services and will participate in Elective Surgery.
Duties - Act as a mentor for junior staff within the unit - Through leadership, strive for the provision of a high quality service - Ensure monitoring and maintenance of standards of medical practice within your unit - Assist the Clinical Director to ensure the call roster is appropriately staffed - Recognise, respond and escalate changes in the patient’s condition - Actively supervise registrars and other junior medical staff and provide feedback and perform appraisals - Facilitate and participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, training and research - Assist with the management of emergency and elective demand
Skills and experience - Medical degree and specialist qualifications in ENT Surgery - Current Medical Registration - Knowledge of best practice in specialty field - Demonstrated self-direction and initiative - Ability to direct and motivate others Interest in quality improvement - Interested in and experience with clinical research - Excellent communication skills. - Demonstrated willingness and an ability to lead and supervise a surgical team (registrars and residents). - Demonstrated commitment to medical education and teaching - Evidence of successful engagement in a multi-disciplinary health care team
