Social Worker - Grade 1 Full time Fixed Term until March 2018
Peninsula Health is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Grade 1 Social Worker.
This is a dynamic, challenging and rewarding position, suited to a social worker with a commitment to patient centred care. The position provides exciting opportunities for a social worker looking to develop his/her career in the health system.
The successful applicant will provide, as part of an inter-disciplinary team; appropriate support and counselling to patients and their families/carers and planning to link patients and their families/carers, with appropriate services that support their health and wellbeing.
Applicants must be eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), have excellent counselling, communication and interpersonal skills, and an interest in working in a healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
•Provide quality focussed care, to patients and their families/carers through competent clinical treatment, assessment and discharge planning skills.
•Able to resource and provide information to assist patient’s recovery.
•Provide effective communication, both verbal and nonverbal, and documentation skills.
•Able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
•Demonstrate assessment/counselling skills.
•Demonstrate experience and interest in continuous quality improvement.
•Contribute to educating and raising awareness of the Social Work role within Peninsula Health.
•Demonstrate flexibility/initiative and a keenness to learn.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Bachelor Degree of Qualifying Masters in Social Work (eligible for registration with AASW)
Current Victorian Drivers Licence
Social Work experience in a hospital or related health setting
