Position Summary

Peninsula Health is currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to work within the team of the Acute Adult Inpatient Service (Ward 2 West).

The Peninsula Health catchment area covers approximately 850 square kilometres and a population of over 295,000, which can increase by up to 100,000 in peak tourism seasons.

Acute Adult Inpatient Service has 29 beds, providing acute Mental Health Care to clients in the region. We work closely with Community Mental Health Teams and the Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document comprehensive nursing care within the area in accordance with best practice and Peninsula Health values.
• Ensure the safety of the public, patients and staff in relation to the provision of a safe environment from both OH&S and Infection Control Perspectives.
• Assist in the orientation of new staff and the supervision and instruction of students.


Essential Criteria

• Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.
• Completion of a graduate year program.
• Post Graduate Qualification in Mental Health Nursing (or working towards).
• Demonstrated commitment to Recovery Orientated practice.
• Demonstrated commitment to delivering high quality outcomes for consumers.
