Position Summary

This dynamic, fast paced and rewarding role is required to ensure patients with private health insurance are informed of the benefits of utilising their private health insurance along with assisting overseas and compensable patients with admission paperwork.

The successful applicant will join the Revenue Services team as a dedicated Private Patient Services Officers who are required to interview patients and/or families who have private health insurance with the aim of encouraging the use of their private health insurance for the admission.

Key Responsibilities

• Interview patients and their families with the aim of encouraging use of private health insurance
• Assist patients and their families in understanding the benefits of utilising their Private Health Insurance
• Assist with the processing of their claims
• Develop and promote the role of Private Patient Services Officer
• Maximise Private and Compensable Patient Revenue
• Provide high level advice and service in relation to Private and Compensable Patient matters across the organisation
• Support and contribute to the achievement of Revenue Business Support targets and KPIs
* Assist with Workcover claims
• Educate Peninsula Health staff on Private and Compensable patient matters and Revenue Business Support policy and processes

Essential Criteria

• A knowledge and experience of computerised systems, in particular MS Office Suite of products, and Patient Management systems
• Experience working with minimal supervision
• High standard of personal presentation, including professional disposition and diplomatic approach
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong commitment to customer service
• Experience working in a busy environment
• Ability to work independently as well as with team members
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in all aspects of the role
• Attention to detail in all areas of information and data recording
• Experience working in health care environment or health service organisation
* Must be available to work evenings and weekends
