Peninsula Health provides public healthcare services to residents of the Mornington Peninsula.

Our hospitals and emergency departments are located at Frankston and Rosebud, and we provide a wide range of community health, dental, rehabilitation, mental health, palliative care ad aged care services from campuses at Frankston, Hastings, Mornington and Rosebud.

Position Summary
Peninsula Health currently has an opportunity for an experienced Spiritual Care Practitioner able to function autonomously and as part of an established team, providing support across Peninsula Health sites to consumers/carers/families/ staff.
The services provided relate to the consumer’s experiences of everyday life in a health setting and try to make sense of their world when in challenging circumstances and will be based at Frankston.

Key Responsibilities
• Ensure referrals received are dealt in a timely manner
• Provide a safe and competent service
• Respect the dignity, culture, values and beliefs of consumer/carers and families.
• Work in an open and collaborative manner respecting the differing skills, ideas and attitudes of colleagues.
• Promote and preserve the integral privileged position of trust between practitioner and consumer.

Essential Criteria
• Spiritual care experience in a health service.
• Satisfactory completion of a Graduate Diploma or Bachelor Degree or Undertaking level of studies in Theology/Pastoral Counselling/Social Sciences or equivalent at a Tertiary level
• 2 units of Clinical Pastoral Education or equivalent program of supervised work
• Empathy
• Multifaith and Multicultural awareness
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
• Active faith /spiritual tradition, and links to a committed expression of action/reflection and support.
• Current drivers licence
