Position Summary
Applicants are sought for the position of Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM), for our 15 bed Aged Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit (Ward 1 West), Peninsula Health Mental Health Service, Frankston Hospital site.

As an ANUM you will join the leadership group of a diverse and innovative team. You will work in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager, to provide clinical and operational leadership on a shift-by-shift basis. You will act as a point of contact for Community Mental Health Services and other Peninsula Health Departments and stake holders. You would have the primary responsibility for managing shifts / shift leader in this 15 bed acute unit. The successful applicant will be required to work a seven day rotating roster with an Accrued Day Off

Essential criteria
• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the principles of Recovery Orientated practice in Mental Health Care.
• Demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Mental Health Act 2014, the National Standards for Mental Health Services 2010, and the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards including EQuIP and National Safety and Quality Standards in Health Care.
• Extensive experience in the mental health field including acute inpatient services and/or community mental health care
• Strong leadership skills
• Compliance with other relevant legislation
• Working knowledge of discipline specific legislation relevant to clinical practice
• Demonstrated skills and working knowledge of computer data base systems relevant to position
• Familiarity with the values and goals working within a recovery oriented practice framework
