Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity to support the broader workforce of Peninsula Health in a role that will provide plenty of opportunity for growth and challenges to a candidate with the core skills required for this role.

The RiSCE Coordinator - Risk identification, Safety, Communication, Environment (RiSCE) is an integral part of the wider Peninsula Health leadership team. The role will provide a coordinated and consistent approach to the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the RiSCE Program. The position aims to promote a workplace and care environment that is safe and ensures patients/staff/visitors are safe and protected from harm.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides and promotes leadership to Peninsula Health in evidence based assessment, identification, prevention and management of risk in relation to occupational violence, and restraint and seclusion.
• Facilitates implementation of the RiSCE training at Peninsula Health.
• Ensure a high level of customer service is delivered at all times.
• Ensure the safety of the public, patients and staff in relation to the provision of a safe environment from both OH&S and Infection Control perspectives.
• Be responsible for updating personal development in relation to current best practice relating to safety and other relevant processes.

The RiSCE Coordinator is a unique and fulfilling role that reports to the Staff Safety Lead. This role requires experience in facilitating training and development of key personnel in the organisation to respond, manage and support staff to provide a safe working environment for staff, patients and visitors to Peninsula Health.

Essential Criteria

To be successful in this role, you will have significant Mental Health experience and qualifications, you will be a leader and able to work with and support key stakeholders to ensure engagement and compliance with the RiSCE and Occupational Violence framework.

You will have current nursing registration with AHPRA and be capable of supporting implementation and management of training for this important work.

Your communication skills will be outstanding and you will have an understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the impact of Occupational Violence and appropriate measures to mitigate the associated risks.

Selection Criteria Desirable: Post basic qualification in Mental health
Desirable: Experience in Management of Clinical Aggression and high level de-escalation skills
