About the Role:
Peninsula Health is seeking experienced mental health clinicians to work in the emergency department as a part of the Mental Health Clinician/ Consultation Liaison (MHCL) team.

About Mental Health Consultation Liaison team
Mental Health Consultation Liaison service is the assessment (face to face), treatment and planning service for patients with co-morbid mental health and physical health needs who have presented to the Emergency Department at Frankston Hospital.
Mental Health Consultation Liaison service provides support, advice and guidance to non-mental health staff, clients, carers and families and addresses discharge planning with community mental health and support services to ensure appropriate mental health follow-up.

The MHCL team is a specialised mental health team and consists of:

• Senior Nurses
• Allied Health Clinicians
• Consultant Psychiatrist
• Psychiatric Registrar

Key Responsibilities
• Complete detailed and comprehensive assessments of clients presenting with mental health concerns
• Liaison with external services and family/carers
• Support staff to deliver optimum evidenced based person centred care
• Appropriately managing bed allocation and maintain patient flow
• Proactively support staff in identifying and managing clinical risk

Essential Criteria:
• Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration or registration with appropriate Allied Health organisation.
• Professional postgraduate qualification in mental health.
