Position Summary
This parental leave position will suit a Speech Pathologist experienced working with children with mild to moderate disability and developmental delay. Funded services include Community Health Allied Health, NDIS and ECIS.

In addition to individual assessments and intervention, the role will provide support to families and educators on the therapy and developmental needs of the child. A holistic approach to supporting the family, informed by the social model of health is valued. This position will include outreach, consultancy, education and group work.

The Grade 2 Speech Pathologist contributes to providing and coordinating clinical services requiring Speech Pathology in a multidisciplinary setting. The position is available until the 5th of April 2019 with prospects for extension. Secondments and part time applicants will be considered. Grade One applicants will be considered.

Key Responsibilities
•Deliver sensitive and evidence based speech pathology and multidisciplinary care within a family-centred practice framework to young children with mild to moderate disability or developmental delays.
•Provide leadership and support to other team members, other discipline staff, volunteers and students, to ensure that their consumers receive quality care.
•Contribute positively to a team dedicated to innovation and excellence.
•Maintain excellent standards of documentation, statistics and record keeping.
•Be aware of and work in accordance with organisational policies and procedures including award conditions, occupational health and safety and equal employment opportunity
•Support a child safe organisation by valuing, respecting, and listening to children and young people and by undertaking screening for suitability to work with children and vulnerable people and to comply with relevant state/territory legislative requirements.

Selection Criteria Essential: • Qualification in Speech Pathology and maintain a practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
