About being a Clinician
Peninsula Health's Mental Health Service are seeking an innovative and passionate Mental Health Clinician to be part of an expanding mental health service.

By providing timely and responsive mental health assessment and treatment to people who require community based mental health treatment and support you are uniquely able to help members in our local community.

Assisting a person to achieve their optimal health outcome by working competently within your scope of practice empowers the individual with the belief that they can and do have control over their lives.

About our Adult Intensive Treatment Team
The Mornington Adult Intensive Treatment Team provides community based short term treatment interventions for clients 25-64 years. The team works a 7 day rotating roster, 3 shifts per day 8:30am-5pm , a mid shift and 2pm-10:30pm.

The team works with the client and their comprehensive assessment and care plan to provide intensive community based short term treatment interventions during an acute phase of illness as an alternative to hospitalisation. This includes frequent reviews by clinicians and specialist medical staff, including Consultant Psychiatrists, treatment provision and planning, liaison and linkage with private providers and primary care.

Skills and experience
• Are you a qualified and Registered Nurse (with a post graduate qualification in psychiatric/mental health nursing or specialized undergraduate psychiatric mental health nursing program), Psychologist (with relevant National Board clinical psychology for Psychologist membership), Occupational Therapist (with Occupational Therapy Board membership) or Social Worker (with a degree in social work that is able to be approved for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers)?
• Are you passionate and committed to the best possible outcome for people who are supported by our program?
• Do you thrive within a team environment of highly driven, experienced and supportive people?
• Do you have a knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Mental Health Act 2014, the National Standards for Mental Health Services 2010, the National Standards for the Mental Health Workforce 2002 and the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards including EQuIP?
• Have you worked in the mental health field before (including acute inpatient services and/or community mental health care)?
•Do you have the ability in the management of clients with a major mental illness and in the techniques of assessment, crisis intervention, counselling and psychosocial rehabilitation?
