Position Summary Peninsula Health is seeking a Grade 2 Physiotherapist with experience in providing high quality assessment, management and discharge planning for acute surgical patients and for acute patients more generally. The successful applicant will be available to work on Thursday, Friday and Saturday each week.
The successful applicant will enjoy a fast-paced, varied caseload and will have demonstrated skills and enthusiasm for teaching junior Physiotherapy staff and undergraduate students. Supervision will be provided by Senior Clinician Physiotherapists and for applicants with previous ICU experience, there are opportunities to practice and maintain these skills.
Applicants with appropriate skills and experience to fulfil a Grade 2 role are preferred but applications from more junior Physiotherapists with acute experience will be considered at a Grade 1 level. Grade 1 position description is available upon request.
Key Responsibilities • Provide high quality Physiotherapy services to an acute caseload, ensuring specialised provision of care, discharge planning and facilitation of patient flow • Provide leadership and support to other Physiotherapy departmental staff including Grade One Physiotherapists (specifically those providing weekend physiotherapy services), Allied Health Assistants and Physiotherapy students, to ensure that their patients receive excellent care • Represent the Physiotherapy service on working groups and committees as required • Identify and act on opportunities for service improvement
Essential Criteria • Registration with the National Physiotherapy Registration Board (AHPRA) • Able to competently and autonomously perform high quality Physiotherapy assessment, treatment and patient management, including thorough and appropriate discharge planning for acute surgical patients. • Demonstrated clinical supervision skills • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills • Demonstrated commitment to continuous and innovative improvement through quality and/or research activities • Developing leadership skills • Demonstrated participation in Professional Development
