Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Grade 3 Allied Health Assistant (AHA) to work as part of an innovative model of care in the Geriatric Evaluation and Management service at The Mornington Centre.
The SPeED (Supported Patient Centred Early Discharge) program includes occupational therapists, physiotherapists and an allied health assistant to enable early supported discharge for sub-acute inpatients. This team works in collaboration with the wider interdisciplinary care team at the Mornington Centre.
Key Responsibilities The Grade 3 AHA will competently provide physiotherapy and occupational therapy assessment and intervention for patients accepted onto the SPeED program. This role requires a multidisciplinary, person-centred approach to provide efficient and safe patient care as prescribed by Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. Therapy may be provided as individual patient sessions or in a group format. This position supports the administrative functions of the SPeED team as well as the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy departments more broadly, including equipment maintenance, cleaning and other duties as directed.
