This position is part of the senior leadership team within Community Health and reports to the General Manager of Community Health. This is an exciting role that is responsible for managing strategic imperatives and operational performance of the Prevention, Access and Families Stream. This Stream provides a range of diverse programs and services to communities living on the Peninsula and includes:
- An intake and Access services which manages intake for community health and subacute ambulatory care
- Counselling
- Child Health
- Family Violence
- Health Promotion
- Men's Shed
- Service Support
- Research
- Volunteers

The position manages just over 100 EFT and has 5 program manager reports. Community Health operates across 4 sites over the Peninsula: Frankston, Hastings, Rosebud and Mornington. Ideally this position will be based at Hastings to provide site management, but will also work across other sites.

Key Responsibilities
- Set and implement clinical directions for the stream
- Manage and implement strategic initiatives that benefit the stream, and where relevant Community Health and Peninsula Health
- Manage overall operational performance for the stream , ensuring services and staff meet all regulatory, professional and performance requirements
- Provide leadership within the stream and as part of the senior community health leadership team
- Work collaboratively with other senior leaders in Community Health and more broadly across Peninsula Health to ensure the delivery of seamless and integrated care
- In conjunction with the General Manager, develop and guide professional planning for the stream, in line with government policies and priorities for Community Health and Peninsula Health
- Lead and develop services and programs, including growing and/or introducing new programs where opportunities present
- Work in partnership with key stakeholders and community to continuously improve the quality of services and the integration of care across the service system
- Manage the stream’s budget and human resourcing

To take up this position, the following skills, experience and tertiary education is required:
- Experience at a senior management level in health, including extensive clinical and operational management experience
- Tertiary qualifications in a health discipline relevant to the programs being managed within the Stream
- Experience in developing and fostering strategic partnerships with acute, subacute
- Experience in budgetary and human resource management
- Experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of innovative community programs
- Experience in cultural change and development

Selection Criteria Essential: Experience at a senior management level in community health, including extensive clinical and operational management experience
Essential: Qualifications in a health discipline relevant the programs being managed within the Stream
Essential: Experience in developing and fostering strategic partnerships with acute, subacute and community sectors
Essential: A sound knowledge of community health principles and demonstrated experience working within a social model of health
Essential: Experience in financial management and managing budgets with multiple funding and reporting lines
Essential: Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal
Essential: Experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of innovative community programs
Essential: Experience in cultural change and development within an organisation
Desirable: Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Management, Health Administration or Public Health (or working towards)
