Are you ready to practice your pharmacy skill and knowledge in a comprehensive electronic environment for inpatient medication management?

• Peninsula Health is one of the few hospitals in Victoria using electronic inpatient prescribing system and clinical documentations.
• Our department is technologically advanced as our pharmacists use iPads provided by the department to view patient conditions, medications, results etc. and document their activities live on web applications. From admission medication history reconciliation, inpatient prescribing, interventions, discharge reconciliation and Pharmacy update to local doctors, etc. our pharmacists have live access to the latest updated data.
• Peninsula Health has successfully implemented electronic clinical documentation in June 2018, which replaces paper based patient records.

Position Summary

Peninsula Health has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and person-centred pharmacist to join our Pharmacy team on a fixed term (9 months) 64 hours per fortnight basis. The role is a rotational position with operational and clinical activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Pharmacists are expected to be able to do general dispensing as well as manage medication supplies using our pharmacy computer system.
• Pharmacists are expected to provide clinical ward pharmacy services through the electronic prescribing system and manage pharmacy related questions from medical, allied health, nursing staff or patients as well as participate in the education and supervision of pharmacy students and work experience students.
• Pharmacists are all expected to do their utmost to provide reliable drug information and patient counselling.

Selection Criteria Essential: Current non-restricted registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia; or provisional registration with no more than 4 weeks supervised training required, and no further examination needed prior to the registration.
Desirable: Recent hospital or community pharmacy experience (please specify).
Desirable: Relevant or working towards post graduate qualification (please specify).
