What You Will Be Doing
Peninsula Health currently has a opportunity for a passionate and client centered AOD Clinician to join our Alcohol and Other Drugs Program on a Limited term basis. Working as part of a highly skilled multi-disciplinary team the counsellor will provide evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions to promote recovery for clients age 60+ experiencing substance use related harms.
What You Will Need
We anticipate you will: • Deliver evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions ranging in intensity to individuals (including brief interventions, cognitive-behavioral therapy, contingency management and harm reduction) • Provide assessment, intervention and discharge planning within program guidelines and professional scope of practice • In collaboration with the client, develop the client’s initial recovery plan to: • Understand the concept of health literacy, the individual level of health literacy and the impact this has on a client’s ability to manage their care • Conduct Individual Recovery Reviews in collaboration with the client to assess progress towards treatment goal • Present clients at regular intervals at the Alcohol and Other Drug multidisciplinary clinical review meeting • Demonstrate current evidenced based practice within your area of clinical expertise. • Ability to work with clients on transition to other services once goals are complete.
