Position Summary

This Grade 1 Dietitian position will hold a dedicated clinical workload based at Frankston Hospital. Approximately 80-90% of the position is allocated for management of the clinical caseload.

The successful applicant will also be expected to participate in quality improvement activities and undertake participation in the ‘buddy program’. The Nutrition and Dietetics Department at Peninsula Health is unique in facilitating a ‘buddy program’ whereby Dietitians are paired with Grade 2/3 specialist Dietitians to undergo skill development in specific clinical areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Senior Dietitian and / or Grade 2 Dietitian, work as a member of the multidisciplinary team to provide best practice dietetic assessment, intervention, case management, education and discharge planning for inpatients utilising a person centred approach.
• Actively engage in clinical supervision and the buddy program
• Actively participate in the Quality Improvement program

Essential Criteria

• Member, or eligible for membership of Dietitians Association of Australia
• Member, or eligible for membership of the Accredited Practicing Dietitian Program
• Demonstrated participation in Professional Development
• Commitment to accuracy of record keeping & reporting in the medical
record
• Computer literate
• Current Driver’s License
• Ability to work as a part of a team
