Peninsula Health provides public healthcare services to residents of the Mornington Peninsula.

Our hospitals and emergency departments are located at Frankston and Rosebud, and we provide a wide range of community health, dental, rehabilitation, mental health, palliative care ad aged care services from campuses at Frankston, Hastings, Mornington and Rosebud.

Position Summary

Our Team in the Surgical Services Suite works with passion to deliver world class healthcare for the local community. The Surgical Services Suite at Peninsula Health is an exciting and dynamic environment that performs approximately 15,000 procedures per year, 10,000 of those are elective and 5,000 emergency procedures.

There are 10 Operating Rooms providing a service for a variety of craft groups. Specialities include: ENT, thoracic, vascular, plastic, facio maxillary, orthopaedic, urology, general surgery, endoscopy, obstetrics and gynaecology and emergency surgery. There is an element of paediatric surgery in ENT, plastic, orthopaedic and general surgery.

Exciting opportunities exist for passionate, skilled and dynamic scrub scout nurses to join our team for a limited term in either a part time or full time basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document comprehensive nursing care within the area in accordance with evidence based best practice standards and Peninsula Health Values.
• Ensure the safety of the public, patients and staff in relation to the provision of a safe environment from both OH&S and Infection Control Perspectives.
• Complete all mandatory training as per hospital policy and participate in organised training and development activities.
• Assist in the orientation of new staff and the supervision and instruction of students.

Selection Criteria Desirable: Completion of post graduate certificate or degree in peri-operative nursing
Essential: Registered Nurse with current APRHA registration
Essential: Recent significant clinical experience in Perioperative Nursing (Scrub/Scout) Across multiple specialities.
Essential: Completion of a graduate year program
Essential: Takes responsibility for own actions and is proactive and self-starting.
Essential: Communicates well with and relates to consumers from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds
