Position Summary

The NDIS Psychologist will contribute to the development of the newly established NDIS Children’s Service stream for children.

The NDIS Psychologist will deliver high quality, child-centred and family focused child development and disability services for eligible families in the City of Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula Shire.

This position supports staff to deliver clinical services to children, families and groups, and engage in capacity building and local partnerships. The role ensures preventative, responsive, inclusive and innovative client engagement and evidence-based interventions are fundamental to staff practices.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver sensitive and evidence based psychology and multidisciplinary care within a family centered practice framework to children with developmental delays.
• Provide leadership and support to other team members, other discipline staff, volunteers and students, to ensure that their consumers receive quality care.
• Contribute positively to a team dedicated to innovation and excellence.
• Maintain excellent standards of documentation, statistics and record keeping.
• Be aware of and work in accordance with organisational policies and procedures including award conditions, occupational health and safety and equal employment opportunity
• Support a child safe organisation by valuing, respecting, and listening to children and young people and by undertaking screening for suitability to work with children and vulnerable people and to comply with relevant state/territory legislative requirements.


Essential Criteria

• Qualification in Psychology and maintain current registration with AHPRA.
• Substantial experience providing evidence–based therapy services to children and their families within the community sector including group work.
• Established skills and commitment to working in child-centred and family-focused practices including skills in working with vulnerable and disadvantaged families.
• Proven ability to lead projects and continuous quality improvement.
• Developing leadership skills and commitment to reflective, continuous learning
• Capacity to support staff of other disciplines in capacity building, promote professional competence and foster self-development.
• Developed multidisciplinary skills with a wide age range of children.
• Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Proven analytical and report writing skills.
• Holder of a current ‘Working with Children Check’.
• Computer skills (intermediate level, or above) in a Windows environment including word processing, data collection and entry, internet and email.
• Current Victorian Driver’s License

Selection Criteria Essential: Hold and maintain current registration with the Psychology Board of Australia through AHPRA.
