What You Will Be Doing
We are seeking a Full time Head of Unit for the Integrated Persistent Pain Service at appointed at Peninsula Health. This service has expanded over the past 4 years and importantly is strongly supported by the Executive.
The Peninsula Health catchment area covers approximately 850 square kilometers and a population of over 300,000, which can increase by up to 100,000 in peak tourism seasons. Peninsula Health has Campuses at Frankston, Mornington, Golf Links Road and Rosebud.
The Integrated Persistent Pain Service is a busy and important service with a significant ambulatory and in-patient consultation load that has grown substantially in the last 3 years. The service has an excellent multidisciplinary Persistent Pain Therapy program with strong Allied Health and nursing support. In addition to physicians with expertise in pain medicine, the program is also supported by rehabilitation physicians and a psychiatrist. The service also provides a busy consultation service for inpatient services including General Medicine, Surgery, Rehabilitation and Aged Care, Palliative Care, Mental Health and Addiction Medicine. There is a strong co-operation with the Dept of Anaesthesia which provides acute pain services.
This position offers a great opportunity to further develop the Integrated Persistent Pain Service at Peninsula Health into a site of excellence for clinical service delivery and training in the field of pain medicine.
