What You Will Be Doing

• Assist the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and potential patients to utilise mainstream health services.
• Create an Australian Indigenous friendly environment within the Peninsula Health Network.
• Assist the Peninsula Health Network to provide culturally sensitive health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients

What You Need

We anticipate you will have:

• Demonstrated ability to work with a range of people, groups and services
• A sound knowledge and understanding of Victorian Aboriginal culture, society and kinship networks, as well as the ability to communicate with, and be accepted by, the local Aboriginal community.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills, written and verbal, and the ability to develop and maintain communications with Aboriginal communities, other hospital staff, other mainstream agencies, and government departments.
• Demonstrated ability to be a strong advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and protect their right to receive safe, personal, effective and connected care
• Current Drivers License
