Who We Are and What We Stand For

Peninsula Health is the major metropolitan health service caring for a community of 300,000 people. Our Vision is to provide exceptional health and community care. To realise this vision we need people who strive for a sense of achievement, take an interest in their individual growth, enjoy innovation and looking for ways to improve and have a passion for communicating and connecting with others.

In representing Peninsula Health, we expect all employees and volunteers to reflect our values: Be the Best, Be a Role Model, Be Open and Honest, Be Compassionate and Respectful and Be Collaborative. We are One Peninsula Health.

What You Will Be Doing

The Access and Assessment Team (AAT) is a multidisciplinary community based team providing an assertive comprehensive Assessment and Brief Intervention service; incorporating Telephone Triage (formally CATT) and Police, Ambulance & Clinician Early Response (PACER). The initial telephone assessment determines the urgency and nature of the AAT response. Whilst AAT predominately caters to the needs of adults (above 16), after hours services covers all age ranges. AAT work closely with the Emergency Department, Victorian Police and other Emergency Services to provide quality care to our clients.

As a Senior member of this multidisciplinary team your skills will be utilised across all areas of the team; Assessment, Telephone Triage and working alongside Victoria Police as a PACER clinician. You will receive support, supervision, a comprehensive orientation program, study leave, professional development opportunities and work across a 7 day rotating roster.

What You Need

We anticipate you will have:

• Registered Nurse (with Higher Qualification in Mental Health), Social Worker, OT or Clinical Psychologist with relevant registration
• Minimum 5 years experience in the mental health field including acute inpatient services and/or community mental health care
• Proven ability in the management of clients with a major mental illness and in the techniques of assessment, crisis intervention, counselling and psychosocial rehabilitation

Frankston Hospital Expansion

The redevelopment will transform services at the hospital – delivering a new 12-storey clinical services tower and main entrance, an additional 130 beds, new spaces for mental health and oncology services and a state-of-the-art theatre suite.

With more families choosing to make Frankston home, the bigger and better Frankston Hospital will also deliver expanded women’s and children’s services, including new maternity, obstetrics and paediatric wards, a women’s clinic and a special care nursery.

Once completed, the bigger and better hospital will have the capacity to treat approximately 35,000 more patients each year – cutting wait times and reducing pressure on other Melbourne hospitals.
Construction has commenced and is expected to be completed in 2025.

We offer a wide range of employee benefits some of which are:

• Relocation allowance available to approved applicants to assist with costs of relocating
• Guidance and assistance with relocation needs
• Corporate membership rates with Peninsula Aquatic Recreation Centre and YAWA Aquatic Centre
